Norm "Sky Guy" Welbanks 1951-2009
KC member Norm Welbanks has passed away. (You can read Norm's obituary in the Whig-Standard here: Obituary.) The funeral service will be at the Riverside United Church in Yarker on Saturday Dec. 12:
10:00am - 11:30am: greeting/chat time
11:30am - Noon: service, followed by a luncheon.
After the luncheon those who wish can join the family for the interment of the ashes in the Columbarium at the Newburgh United Church Cemetery on County Rd. #1.

M Pins Presented

At the June RASC-KC Meeting, presentations were made to members who have completed their Messier Observing Program Certificates. On hand to receive them were: Doug Angle, Leo Enright, Kim Hay, Steve Manders and Kevin Kell.

For the those who were not in attendance, the pins have been mailed out: Martin McConnell, Ray Berg, Ken Kingdon, Vic Smida, Mark Kaye, Norm Welbanks, Leo Brodeur and also to other current Centre members who finished the program while members of other centres: Walter MacDonald, John Hurley and Jan Wisniewski.

Thank-you from the 2010GA Planning Committee
The 2010 GA Organizing Committee from the New Brunswick Centre would like to thank everyone who was able to attend the GA and festivities. The tours had positive feedback and speakers provided a wealth of information.

Celebration of our 2010GA as well as the designation of the asteroid for William Brydone Jack... and our 10 year anniversary.

We look forward to seeing everyone again in 2011 for another successful and entertaining GA hosted by Winnipeg!
